Zizameleni Project on the rise.

Always needed, Always there
Our Johannesburg branch has established a community project called Zizameleni, we had to hand it back to the community and as it is based in a major tourist route, the community is ripping the benefits. All thanks to The Red cross society, volunteers, staff members and donors for making this project a reality. Most of the artifacts are sold to tourists thus bringing much needed income to many families.

New addition to the Red Cross Family

Always needed, Always there
Chigomezgo Dorcas Mpele joined the Red Cross Society as a volunteer PA. She has done First Aid course with the society and has completed her Information programming course with Rosebank College. We all welcome her to our world of humanitarian work.

Doornfontein inferno

Always needed, Always there

One day around 14:00pm, a fire broke out at a residential area in Doornfontein, the place was gutted down as seen in the pictures. About thirty eight rooms were converted into residential units for rental purposes. Almost one hundred and fifty people where left homeless or lost most of their belongings.

As usual The South African red cross Society was there to give much needed help. We gave them food parcels, blankets, clothing and kitchen utensils.

This unfortunate incident happened at Rocky and Davis streets in Doornfontein, we were informed of this disaster by Mr Nyaose who happens to be one of the local indunas. Once again we thank all heartfelt donors, supporters and volunteers.
