Warehouse home erased

Always needed, Always there

I used to live here, thats all she could say, after coming back to see all her belongings turned to ashes.

267 people were left homeless and without household items after fire, tore down an old ware house that was turned into a residential building. This happened in Kew Industrial Area in Alexandra. Almost everything in the building was burnt beyond recognition, luckily no life was lost. As per norm, the SA Red Cross Johannesburg Metro assisted by volunteers from Alexandra helped the stranded victims with clothing items and blankets. it is always a pleasant experience to work hand in hand with our volunteers since they take their valuable time to help us help others. In short we thank them for their commitment to serving the community.

We rescue again

Always needed, Always there
The SARCS Johannesburg , came to the rescue of a family in Suiwerfontein( Sgodiphola Informal settlement). Their house mysteriously went ablaze and everything inside was burnt beyond recognition. Furniture, clothes and food, all was reduced to ashes. Luckily we still had blankets in store, we managed to help them with clothes, mattresses and blankets, thus finishing our donation from the Nedbank Foundation and other individual donors. Indeed we are for the people.

Hungry flames

Always needed, Always there
A weekend without a home, thats what happened to a family in Diepsloot, we were there to help them. The flames ate up the shack plus a child, a child was burnt to death in the shack. The family is still struggling to raise funds to bury the child and we appeal to donors to continue helping us so as to be able to help people during these unfortunate events. Blankets and matresses recieved by the survivors are part of the donation from the Nedbank foundation. We still appeal to generous donors to help us help this family.
